Writeup | About Pinealon, The Longevity-Enhancing Peptide

This writeup talks about the pharmacology and relevance of Pinealon for cognition and longevity enhancement.

About Pinealon

Pinealon is a naturally occurring peptide that has shown promise for improving brain function and fighting aging. In simple terms, it works by interacting with certain genes to increase or decrease the production of key proteins involved in keeping the brain working [1].

Initial research indicates pinealon can enhance learning, memory, mood, and physical abilities in both animals and people [2-11]. It was first isolated from an extract of young animal brain cortex tissue [1], suggesting pinealon plays a role in the youthful brain.

Studies have revealed some of the major ways pinealon achieves its effects. One key mechanism is ramping up growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11), a protein that declines as we get older [12-17]. GDF11 is considered a rejuvenation factor because it can reverse aging-related problems with memory, blood vessel growth, muscle strength, skin repair, and more [18-22]. By boosting GDF11, pinealon may be able to slow or reverse brain aging [23].

Pinealon also increases a protein called FKBP1b, which gets dialed down in Alzheimer's brains [24,25]. FKBP1b can restore youthful gene activity patterns and improve age-related memory loss [26]. Through a different pathway, pinealon activates PPAR genes involved in optimal brain cell functioning, which become dysregulated in Alzheimer's [27-29].

In addition, pinealon raises levels of a heat shock protein called HSPA1A [30,31]. This protein acts as a neuronal protector, preventing buildup of malformed proteins implicated in neurodegeneration [32].

Another target of pinealon is the FNDC5 gene, which leads to increased irisin production [33]. Irisin is a hormone that stimulates growth of new mitochondria, activates pathways involved in neuron survival, and boosts telomerase - an enzyme that lengthens telomeres to increase cellular lifespan [34-37].

At the cellular level, pinealon turns down caspase 3, an enzyme that promotes programmed cell death [38,39]. Curbing caspase 3 may help rescue dying neurons in the Alzheimer's brain [40]. Pinealon also increases the activity of genes involved in serotonin synthesis, which could lift mood and cognitive performance [41].

Finally, pinealon switches on ERK1/2, a signaling pathway that spurs the growth of new neurons and their connections [42-44]. It also improves the myelin insulation around nerve fibers and turns on antioxidant defenses (likely improving Huntington's Disease) [45,46]. Through its myriad effects, pinealon shows potential to regenerate failing circuitry in neurodegenerative disease [23,24,40].

Discussion

Pinealon has many beneficial effects, and it looks to be a very promising peptide for cognitive and longevity enhancement.

Because of Pinealon's great potential as a compound, we have decided to list it on penchant bio. We stock it in spray form, stabilized with polysorbate 80 and sterilized with sodium benzoate. We ship worldwide and have fast shipping in the US and EU.
