Summary
URB597 is an relatively selective experimental FAAH inhibitor that is being investigated for its analgesic and anxiolytic efficacy. FAAH (aka Fatty-Acid Amide Hydrolase) is the functional target enzyme of URB597, with it regulating nociception, and some other processes.
Preclinical studies have shown FAAH inhibitors to increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex,[6] highlighting their potential in addiction treatment as "enviromimetics".
FAAH is the primary degradatory enzyme for anandamide and, as such, inhibition of FAAH leads to an accumulation of anandamide in the CNS and periphery.
It it soluble past 8mg/mL in PEG-400 & DMSO.
